Small Group Information | FAQs

How do I start a small group?

• First and foremost, start off praying about hosting a small group and for the people you will ask to participate with you.
• Create a list of people to join and/or host your small group.
• Invite others to join your small group.
• Call 1-888-608-COACH to order your small group material.
  • We have put together a Couples Pack (one 6 Secrets to a Lasting Love and two Discover the Love of Your Life All Over Again workbooks or handbooks) for a discounted price. Order by simply calling 1-888-608-COACH or click HERE to order Couples Packs online.
• As a group, decide when and where works best to meet for each session. Map out the next eight weeks:
  • Who is going to host each week? Is it the same person/couple, or will you share the responsibility?
  • Who is going to bring the snacks/dessert?
  • Who will watch the children? (See below for baby-sitting suggestions)

Who do we invite to be in our small group?

• Create a list of people in your circle of influence who would be or need to be encouraged by this message. (We would recommend 3-4 couples, but you can certainly do as many as you’d like.)
  • Neighbors
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Co-workers
  • Church family

When do we get together?

• Pick a time that is most convenient for everyone.
• Allow 2 hours for small group time.

How long is the study?

• Each study is eight weeks long.
• Some groups divide each week into two weeks for a 16-week study in order to spend more time on each lesson.

What book and workbook do we start with?

We recommend starting with the Discover the Love of Your Life All Over Again DVD series and accompaning small group material.  

What is the cost of the book and workbooks?

Each book and workbook is $12, the handbook is $6. We do have Couples Pack which include one book and two workbooks (we recommend one workbook per person) for $30 or one book and two handbooks for $20.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to do this material in a small group?

No. You and your spouse can go through this material together as a couple or in a small group. The material can also be used in Sunday school classes.

Do I have to go through the material before I start a small group?

No. You can go through the material alone or with your spouse before you host a small group, but it is not necessary.

As a “host” do I have to lead every session?

It depends upon your teaching style. You can lead as little or as much as you would like. Feel free to allow the group to “lead” by allowing them to share what they have learned each week. Don’t feel that you have to be the one with all the experience. The DVD series was designed to allow the Rosberg's to teach your small group. Use this time to grow and learn together.

• There are leaders notes in the back of each workbook to help you “lead.”
• You may download the host notes HERE for the handbook.
• If there is another couple that is just as interested in this study as you are, team-teach.

How do we decide on a time to meet when we all need baby-sitting?

• Ask the youth pastor for a list of teens in the youth group that like to baby-sit.
• Ask the youth pastor if they have a baby-sitting ministry that they provide for the people in your church.
• Coordinate with other small groups within your church to have your small groups on different nights so that you can trade off kids on the nights you are not meeting.
• Consider having a sitter come to the home where the study is at and watch the kids in a part of the home that will not be distruptive to the study.

Is there a leader’s guide?

We have provided leader’s notes at the back of every workbook for your convenience or online for those using the handbook.

Is there follow up material?

Yes. Currently we have 2 books with companion workbooks to use as follow up material. These studies are The 5 Love Needs of Men and Women with the Serving Love workbook and Guard Your Heart with the Guarding Love workbook. We are hoping to begin taping a DVD series on Serving Love in the near future.
